Lot 26G
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A cast bronze figure of the upper part of a centaur, with the body in good form and the back of the centaur visible. The figure may also never have had a lower body - items like this one made to be added to furniture or used as an applique may have not been made to be complete representations. The face shows this to be a young man with a slightly wicked look on his face, so may be a satyr. Comes with custom stand. Size: 2" L x 1.6" W x 2.5" H (5.1 cm x 4.1 cm x 6.4 cm)
