Description:

**Originally Listed At $600**

Pre-Columbian, Southern Peru, proto Nazca, ca. 400 to 100 BCE. A wonderful textile tassel in the form of a doll with an intricately woven face - perhaps anthropomorphic, perhaps zoomorphic - delineated in cocoa brown, tawny beige, rose red, white, and sky blue hues. The rose red tassel below is tied to form arms and a body. This tassel was probably used to decorate a headdress or garment worn during ritualistic ceremonies or dances. Set against an oat-hued fabric covered mount below a lucite and wood cover. Size: 4.875" W x 4.625" H (12.4 cm x 11.7 cm); 6.25" W x 8" H (15.9 cm x 20.3 cm) including frame
