Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mayan, Veracruz, Mexico, ca. 450-650 CE. This example of Vera Cruz pottery is quite rare in that it was intended to serve as a lantern for the ancients. It assumes the expressive form of a laughing coyote or perhaps a Shaman donning coyote regalia. It is finely handbuilt and wonderfully rich with appliques to enhance the design. 13-1/4"H x 7-1/4"W x 7-1/2"D
