Description:

Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Sican / Lambayeque culture, ca. 800 to 1000 CE. An amazingly rare erotic stirrup vessel from a culture that more often put cute birds or lords upon such whistling pieces. Twin lobed jar with spondylus shell on rear section, rectangular "cushion" acts as the front portion, bridge connecting. The jar decorated with added couple in the act of coitis, male entering from the rear, phallus clearly exposed. The whistle emerges from the head of the male and spout acts as the mouthpiece. Whistle works wonderfully well! Size: 9" L x 7" H (23 cm x 18 cm).
