Greek, Southern Italy, Daunian, ca. 700 BCE. A beautiful example of a loop-handled kyathos (wine ladle), with a strainer on one side, adorned with finely painted abstract geometric motifs in chocolate brown, light brown, and red pigment on a cream hued ground. While Greek and South-Italic Greek figural pottery was very popular, Daunian pottery held its own and continued to be created until the end of the 4th century BCE. Size: 6.5" W x 6" H (16.5 cm x 15.2 cm)
