Pre-Columbian, West Coast Mexico, Colima, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A very rare and quite attractive carved obsidian snake. Perhaps used as a dagger or knife, but more likely just showing the technical skill of the craftsman who created this 2000 years ago. Flat on one side and high ridge on the other with hundreds of knapped flakes. Custom stand. Size: 6.25" L (15.9 cm)
