Description:

East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. Wow! A fascinating and rare vessel, of the style known as an ear bowl or ear cup, made from a thin sheet of almost pure (97%) silver. The vessel is an elongated, shallow oval, made for holding wine. Ear cups of this style are found in tombs throughout the Han period, many of them made in government-run workshops. However, very few are made of silver! Size: 4.5" L x 8.6" W x 1.25" H (11.4 cm x 21.8 cm x 3.2 cm); 5.45" H (13.8 cm) on included custom stand; 121.9 grams
