Description:

Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. A finely-carved lapis lazuli stamp seal with a triangular body, a rounded upper point, a pierced suspension hole, and a flat stamp face. The stamp is incised with an image of a woman seated in a chair with a large plant in her hands. Custom putty stamp impression included. Size: 0.4" W x 0.7" H (1 cm x 1.8 cm).

Provenance: private Southern California, USA collection, acquired in the 1970s to mid-1980s
