Description:

Western Asiatic, Steppes, Dagestan, ca. 8th to 6th century BCE. A miniature bronze standing idol, with hands raised in the classic style of the region, the enormous wide palms turned to face outward. The rest of the body has minimal decoration, though an erect phallus is prominent, and facial features are nicely detailed. Wonderful green patina has developed over the ages. Size: 1.95" W x 2.3" H (5 cm x 5.8 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Private LA County collection formed over the period between 1980 and 2000.
