West Africa, Cameroon or Nigeria, possibly Tikar / Bamun Bamileke culture, ca. late 19th to mid-20 century CE. A fascinating pottery statue with a conjoined twin figure with a distended abdomen and bare breasts. A cotton loincloth and shell pendant are tied to the waist. An unusual sculpture that may have functioned as a fertility idols to promote good harvests or protective guardians. Size: 5" W x 7.5" H (12.7 cm x 19 cm)
