Description:

Northern Europe / Central Asia, Finno-Ugric culture, ca. 5th to 11th century CE. A fine white bronze pendant composed of seven cast pieces with three bells, three bell loops, and a semicircular top ornament decorated with dozens of applied segments which radiate outward from a trio of small bulbs. Pendants like this example were perhaps worn as a pendant or sewn onto clothing to create a bright, glinting effect as well as a jangling nose when jostled. Modern necklace cord included. Size (pendant): 1" W x 2" H (2.5 cm x 5.1 cm); size (necklace cord): 22" L (55.9 cm).
