Description:

Western Samoa, Polynesian Islands, ca. 19th century CE. Finely woven from coconut leaves with a wooden handle that has developed a beautiful warm patina over the ages. The shape of the fan is not only attractive, but it is also meaningful - intended to represent the shape of a spear tip or the end of a canoe paddle. Size: 21.125" H (53.7 cm); 22.125" H (56.2 cm) on included custom stand.
