**First Time At Auction**

Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, Dakota / Lakota (Sioux), ca. 1890s to 1900s CE. A rare ritualistic wand made from wood with a bison tail, horn, and beadwork. The tail was carefully cut and placed over the wood rod and sewn up the side, and the bison horns were mounted to the wood with iron nails as handles and covered with a rawhide grip. The rawhide is beaded with pale green, powder blue, and cobalt glass seed beads. This was a symbolic war club that was held during dances or other ritualistic events. Size: 28" L x 9.5" W (71.1 cm x 24.1 cm)
