**First Time At Auction**

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. early 20th century CE. A group of four wooden carvings with nice aged surfaces. Two are the heads of puppets, both simple faces with large eyes, pronounced brows, and heads of thick black painted hair. One is a standing figure of a woman with a small tab under her feet to stand her up on a base. The fourth is an unpainted, eagle-like bird with incised feathers and its long neck curved downward to grasp a small round object in its beak. Size of largest (woman): 11.2" H (28.4 cm)

Provenance: ex Adeon Gallery, Chicago, Illinois, USA, acquired prior to 1970
