Description:

Roman, late Imperial Period, ca. 4th century CE. A lovely cup formed from pale yellow-green glass. The vessel is defined by its flat bottom and inverted bell-shaped body, an upturned rim, and a fire-polished lip. Four groups of cobalt-blue glass appliques alternate around the body between single large dots and trios of smaller dots. Lovely rainbow-hued iridescence covers most of one side. Size: 3.7" W x 3.3" H (9.4 cm x 8.4 cm).

  • Condition: Minor nicks around rim, with light abrasions, and encrustations along most of one side, otherwise intact and very good. Nice rainbow iridescence along most of one side, and nice earthen deposits throughout.
