Description:

Greece, Athens, ca. 500 BCE. Lovely black-figure pottery skyphos - a cup used for drinking wine. Two upward sweeping handles, short foot and sloping sides decorated on each side with three running satyrs. Each satyr is shown nude, long tail behind to the left as they run toward the right, each holding an object in their hand. A nice example with an amusing scene. Size: 8" W x 4.5" H (20.3 cm x 11.4 cm)
