Description:

Ancient Near East, Eastern Anatolia, ca. late 4th millennium BCE. A rare figural sculpture carved from mottled dark-green hardstone with inclusions of beige and white. The abstract figure kneels atop an integral plinth and peers forward with enormous eyes, gaping mouth, and a conical headdress, perhaps a deity in prayer. Size: 0.71" L x 0.54" W x 1.58" H (1.8 cm x 1.4 cm x 4 cm); 2.34" H (5.9 cm) on included custom stand.
