Description:

Near East, Islamic, ca. 12th to 13th century CE. A beautiful flask of a tall stature, mold-formed from near-opaque glass of a pale yellow-green hue. The spherical body is supported by an applied flared foot surrounding a rough pontil scar, has a rounded shoulder which tapers sharply to form the cylindrical neck, and a funnel mouth with an in-folded rim and a lightly-carinated bulge just below. A register of pattern-molded circles with interior dots course around the shoulder, and a small indentation below the decorations suggests the vessel was created via the post technique. Size: 4.875" W x 11.125" H (12.4 cm x 28.3 cm).
