Roman provinces, Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 5th century CE. A haunting carved marble head, likely from a memorial. The head is surrounded by flowing hair and has beautifully symmetrical features with almond-shaped eyes, a short, flat nose, and a small, full-lipped mouth. The face is smooth, giving an impression of youth. Size: 4" W x 5" H (10.2 cm x 12.7 cm)
