Northern Europe / Central Asia, Finno-Ugric culture, ca. 5th to 11th century CE. A white bronze bracelet comprised of a single bent band with three distinct rows of incised circular and diagonal designs along the top. Each terminal displays a pair of finely-detailed and wide-eyed nautili (also nautiluses), whose bodies curve inwards towards the center of the terminal and are separated by four raised dots. Thick encrustations of green patina and copper-colored oxidation cover one terminal. Size: 1.75" H (4.4 cm); size of opening: 1.125" W (2.9 cm).

  • Condition: Not recommended for wearing. One terminal repaired with area of loss. Surface wear commensurate with age, tarnishing to bronze surfaces, with wear and minor pitting along underside. Green patina and copper-colored encrustations along repaired terminal, and minor adhesive residue visible along break line.
