Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. This pretty pale blue-green translucent bottle has a slightly concave base with a smooth pontil, a rounded piriform body that tapers gradually to narrow shoulders and a pinched neck base, a short tubular neck, and an an in-folded rim. A layer of fiery iridescence is shown on the exterior layer, and can be blinding in the right light. A beautiful example! Size: 3.25" W x 5.375" H (8.3 cm x 13.7 cm).
