Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 4th century CE. A sizable bowl formed from translucent, pale-green glass with a footed base and smooth pontil scar, gradually-expanding walls, a flared rim with a lower exterior shoulder ring, and a deep basin with an indented circle on the base. Though covered in weathering film, the color of the vessel is elegantly complemented by thick, fiery layers of silver and rainbow-hued iridescence. A charming piece of high-quality Roman artistry! Size: 4.875" W x 3.125" H (12.4 cm x 7.9 cm).

#141967

  • Condition: Minor nicks and abrasions to rim, body, and foot, with light weathering film and encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. A smooth pontil scar indicates it was intentionally removed or worn away over time. Nice earthen deposits as well as great silver and rainbow iridescence. Old inventory label beneath base.
