Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, St Johns, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan) / Mogollon, ca. 1150 to 1300 CE. A lovely black on white pottery pitcher of a spherical form shaped via the traditional coil-and-scrape technique with a round but stable base. The surface is slipped in an ashen white and overpainted with mesmerizing black stepped patterning. Spanning the shoulder to neck is a handle in the form of an animal head with perky ears above an elongated snout. Size: 5.5" Diameter x 6" H (14 cm x 15.2 cm)
