Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), Mogollon, St. John's Polychrome type, ca. 1225 to 1300 CE. A beautiful pottery bowl constructed via the traditional coil-and-scrape technique featuring attractive decorative motifs across both the interior and exterior surfaces. Within the basin is an intricate series of angular bands surrounding trapezoidal and rectangular panels filled with dense crosshatching patterns. Concurrently, the exterior surfaces present an enticing concentric circular motif in orange-brown and white pigments that resemble a bullseye. Size: 8.8" Diameter x 4.25" H (22.4 cm x 10.8 cm)

  • Condition: Repaired from several pieces, with restoration to areas of rim, walls, and base, and adhesive residue and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions, nicks, and light pitting to some areas, with fading and darkening to pigment in scattered areas. Great preservation to decorative motifs across interior and exterior surfaces. Old inventory label on base.
