Native American, Anasazi (Late Pueblo), Mesa Verde, ca. 1200-1300 CE. Mesa Verde-style bowls come from modern-day southwestern Colorado and are associated with the builders of the cliff dwellings found in Mesa Verde National Park. This bowl was made with the coil-and-scrape method from greyish-white clay and painted with organic black paint. The designs are angular geometric -- checkerboard and strong lines. Size: 6" diameter x 3" depth.
