Native American, Southwestern United States, Colorado, Anasazi/Ancestral Puebloans, Mesa Verde type, ca. 1250 to 1350 CE. A charming pottery mug skillfully hand-painted with black-on-white decoration of interlocking, stepped, and zigzagged motifs. The vessel presents a cylindrical body with an annular rim, a planar base, and a thick strap handle. Elaborate ornamentation of 2 horizontal registers of diagonal stripes surrounding interlocking or steppe designs adorns the exterior of the body, while a vertical band of a zigzag pattern embellishes the handle. Size: 4.7" W x 3.6" H (11.9 cm x 9.1 cm)
