Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), ca. 1000 to 1300 CE. A hemispherical black-on-white pottery bowl built by hand coiling and scraping the surface smooth, slipping in white, and then painting black motifs across the interior basin. The geometric and simple pictorial shapes resemble sun or star bursts, and stacked rhombus forms split into quadrants by thick lines intersecting the center. While the interior of the basin is busy with painted shapes, the exterior is unadorned. Size: 6" Diameter x 3" H (15.2 cm x 7.6 cm)
