Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Tlatilco, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A fabulous pottery 'pretty lady' from this very early Pre-Columbian culture. Clearly a fertility idol with ample hips suggestive of child bearing, attenuated arms, and small perky breasts. Her face is elongated with slanted, coffee bean shaped eyes, long ears that are partially pierced, and a tall headdress/coiffure that is meticulously detailed with incised striations and applied filets.
