Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Atlantic Watershed to Northern Colombia, ca. 800 to 1500 CE. A lovely necklace comprised of a collection of ancient hand-carved shell beads with a carnelian frog pendant at the center. The strand is strung in modern times on a cotton thread with a spring clasp as a wearable piece. Size of strand: 20.25" L (51.4 cm); frog pendant: 0.48" L x 0.42" W (1.2 cm x 1.1 cm)

  • Condition: Some minor nicks to beads, but otherwise intact. Strung together in the last 50 years on cotton thread with a brass clasp. The spring clasp is slightly stiff but wearable. The necklace could be restrung as one desired with a newer clasp.
