**Previously listed at 200**

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Manteño, ca. 850 to 1600 CE. A captivating round pottery stamp depicting a magnificent avian creature perched in composite profile with a long, curved beak suggestive of a water bird. This further supported by the wave motif opposite the beak and circumscribing the entire stamp. In the Pre-Columbian world, birds were believed to serve as messengers between humankind and the celestial realm. An iconographically intriguing pottery stamp from the Manteño culture, the final Pre-Columbian civilization of Ecuador. Size: ~ 4.25" in diameter (10.8 cm)
