Description:

Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Olmecoid, ca. 1000-800 BCE. Fine trio of ceramic heads, each one captivating in its own right. Nice representatives of Olmec babies with characteristic downturned mouths, slitted eyes, jutting jawlines, a stylized coiffure for one, even a helmet on another, all with oversized heads that appear to show cranial deformation but rather reveal the custom of shaping infants' heads. These pieces belong to an ancient Mesoamerican tradition that flourished during the first millenium BCE. Nice examples each with a custom, museum-quality stand. 2-1/2"T, 2-1/2"T, and 2-3/4"T; 4"T, 4-1/2"T, and 5-5/8"T with stands
