Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico and Guatemala, Mayan Territories, Late Classic, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A large, heavy pendant made from a mottled grey-green hard stone in the form of a highly abstract bird with twin projections meant to indicate wings rising from the central part of the body. The back portion of the pendant is pierced for suspension, while the underside of the body is highly convex so that one can lay one's finger inside of it. The smooth surface and cool stone is very pleasing to touch. Size: 3.75" L x 1.4" W x 1.9" H (9.5 cm x 3.6 cm x 4.8 cm)
