Pre-Columbian, Peru and Ecuador, ca. 300 BCE to 1000 CE. Comprised of 40 miniature spindle whorls made from terracotta and stones of hues ranging from cream to russet to black as well as some copper spindle whorls with a deep green patina. Many of the beads present finely incised abstract geometric and nature-inspired motifs such as wave patterns. They have been skillfully carved in various forms - piriform, rounded, and disc-shaped - with a large circular pendant. All beads are ancient, strung in modern times and secured with a modern 14K gold clasp. Size: 17" L (43.2 cm) + 1.5" in diameter (3.8 cm) pendant
