Pre-Columbian, Chupicuaro, Pre-Classic Mexico, ca. 300 to 100 BCE. This figure depicts a slender young female, with emphasis on her feminine attributes, perhaps used ceremonially as symbolic of the concept of fertility or the passage of a young woman into womanhood. She is depicted wearing a large multi-layered necklace, bracelets on her truncated arms, ear-spools, and an attractive hairstyle. Includes custom display stand, as shown.
