Description:

Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Calima culture, ca. 200 BCE - 400 CE. Calima goldwork stands apart for its grandiose scale and elaborate, embossed decoration. The pieces were created from sheets of gold that were joined using tabs rather than the welding process. Gold artisans also employed casting techniques using the lost wax process. These earrings feature an intricate composition of concentric rings decorated with a variety geometric motifs. Bold and impressive! Each earring is 3-1/4"L x 3-1/4"W - danglers are 1-1/4"D x 3/4"
