Description:

Northwestern Europe, England, Post-Medieval Period, ca. 15th to 17th century CE. An assortment of 4 iron and wood tools and a leaded-tin alloy chain with a gothic style "M" charm- possibly a pilgrim badge or other personal ornament. The iron blade has a hooked profile- possibly a bill hook knife or sheers with a faint marking "FB," and the wood fragment with circular perforations may be a stencil or guide for carpentry or leatherworking. The full knife has an iron single edge blade and wood handle. Size (knife): 7" L x 0.5" W (17.8 cm x 1.3 cm)

  • Condition: Wood circles panel is a fragment of a larger piece. Large blade is also a fragment with heavy patina d surface abrasions. Chain has mineral encrustations and patina. Knife has chips and loss to blade and stable striations on wood handle. Blade has been cleaned but retains dark patina and toning.
