Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Pleistocene era, ca. 1.5 to 1.2 million years ago. A fossilized bone fragment from a Stegodon and a molar fragment also from a Stegodon, a prehistoric elephantid. Please note, that the bone is carved and polished in modern times to resemble a horn from a rhino or some other prehistoric beast. The tooth is has rounded enamel ridges, worn down perhaps in the animal's lifetime from grinding up plant matter. The rounded and smooth edges of the crowns are pleasingly tactile. Size of tooth: 3" L x 3" W x 2.75" H (7.6 cm x 7.6 cm x 7 cm)
