Near East, Phoenicia, Tyre, ca. 19/20 CE. A silver tetradrachm or shekel set within a modern gold bezel as a necklace. Obverse: Laureate bust of Melqart right. Reverse: eagle standing left on prow; “PME” and club to left, Phoenician letter between legs, “KP” and monogram right. RPC I 4658. This shekel was struck during the lifetime of Christ. The coin is set in a modern 59% (14K) gold bezel with a loop for suspension. All is strung on a modern cord with a silver-plated lobster clasp, making this an attractive and wearable piece of historical currency! Size of coin: .89" W (2.3 cm); quality of silver: 94.5%; cord size: 20.5" L (52.1 cm); bezel size: 1.375" L x 1" W (3.5 cm x 2.5 cm); quality of bezel gold: 59% (equivalent to 14K); coin & bezel total weight: 18.8 grams

As mentioned in the Bible, when Judas betrayed Christ for 30 pieces of silver, it is believed that this specific coin, which was widely circulated in the Holy Land at that time, was the coin type that Judas used.
