Near East / Eastern Mediterranean, Roman-Phoenician to Byzantine Period, ca. 3rd century BCE to 3rd century CE. Ancient glass and stone beads strung on modern gold-plated silver band, ear hooks, chain findings as a wearable pair of earrings and a ring! The earrings are comprised of cobalt blue glass beads with golden glass beads, and carnelian stones. Ring bead is cobalt blue with opaque white rings inlaid around the surface, this so called "eye bead" were symbols to ward against evil forces. The ring band can be adjusted to fit from approximately a US ring size 3.5 up to a size 9.5. Size of earrings: 2.5" L (6.4 cm); ring bead: 0.45" Diameter (1.1 cm); US ring size 3.5 to 9; silver quality: 89% to 92%; gold quality: 1%; total combined weight: 7.5 grams
