A functional blackware ocarina with a single mouthpiece projecting from the teardrop shaped body and several finger holes to vary the pitch. Besides music, the purpose of whistle instruments in Pre-Columbian cultures are not completely understood - this ocarina may have been for religious ritual, signaling, or simply a toy!
