Description:

Pre-Columbian, Inca Empire, ca. 1400 - 1550 CE. 2-hole wood ocarina with Inca insignia of the Sun and the Four Quarters of the Inca Empire. Like many other Pre-Columbian wind instruments this has two extra holes for suspension so it could be played while moving around. An extremely rare wooden ocarina that still has a bright and clear sound. Even rarer is the decoration on the side, which depicts the Inca Imperial insignia, and points to a possible Imperial connection. 2 ¾"T. Provenance: Ex-L. Kalina Collection, Los Angeles, CA. The starting price is the lowest price at which the piece can sell.
