Description:

Pre-Columbian, Southern Peru, Ica Valley, Paracas culture, ca. 500 to 300 BCE. A hand-built brownware pottery bowl with an abstract human face protruding from the front. The minimalist visage exhibits petite eyes with impressed pupils, a triangular nose, and lips that poke out from the surface. The upper face is embellished with pecked markings and a step-pattern band while the lower face is smooth. Wrapping around the exterior walls are additional incised linear and rectangular motifs that create a wondrous presentation. Size: 8.625" L x 8.1" W x 3.625" H (21.9 cm x 20.6 cm x 9.2 cm)
