Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A stunning pair of ancient Roman gold hoop earrings - comprised of 95% gold (equivalent to 22K+. Notice that the surfaces of the hoops are incised with a repeated coil pattern, perhaps to represent a serpent which symbolized immortality and was a popular Roman motif. Beautiful, meaningful, and wearable! Size of each (both are relatively similar): 1.125" W x 1.2" H (2.9 cm x 3 cm); quality of gold: 95% (equivalent to 22K+); total weight: 16 grams.
