Description:

**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Post Classic Maya, Mixtec, modern day Mexico, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A pair of brownware vessels. One is a diminutive olla with a buff exterior and band of abstract, centipede-like motifs in black around its upper shoulder. The other is an interestingly-shaped vessel - a shallow bowl with three zoomorphic projections from its rim on a long stem. Around the stem are a trio of deep jars, perhaps for holding small amounts of ingredients to be mixed in the upper bowl. Size of olla: 3.95" W x 2.75" H (10 cm x 7 cm)

Provenance: Ex-private Harvey Collection, acquired prior to 1972
