Description:

Pre-Columbian, Guerrero, Mexico, Mezcala style, ca. 300 BCE. A pair of stone figures, one of which has been heavily degraded during the burial process, and the other of which is in excellent, smooth condition with very clear features. These figures are small ceremonial axes drilled and smoothed into human forms. This pair together presents a really cool chance to understand what can happen to artifacts during the thousands of years they spend in the ground. Comes with custom stand. Size of largest: 1.25" W x 3.3" H (3.2 cm x 8.4 cm)

Provenance: ex-Paul Simon, Taos NM Collection
