Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 to 1 BCE. Two attractive hand-built pottery figures from ancient West Mexico. First is a seated male wearing a corded loincloth, bicep bangles, a necklace with shell-form 'beads.' His broad face is accentuated with a nose ring, ear spools with ovoid ornamentation, and an incised cap with a thick brim. The standing woman wears a belted waistband with two frontal elements resembling feline paws and also has incised striations across her thighs. She holds both arms beneath her breasts and dons enormous ear hoops beneath her notched headdress. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only.   • Condition: Female has repairs to both earrings, and male has head reattached to neck, both with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Both figures have minor abrasions and softening to some incised details. Nice preservation to figural details.
