Description:

East Asia, China, Yuan Dynasty, ca. 1279 to 1368 CE; Qing Dynasty, ca. 1644 to 1912 CE. A beautiful set of two hand-built porcelain items from two distinct Chinese dynastic periods. First is a petite saucer with a footed base and a scalloped rim, the recessed center displaying wonderful floral motifs in a green and gold celadon glaze. Second is a white hexagonal vessel with an accompanying lid, a thin, projecting spout, and twin perforated suspension loops; the lid has a small vent hole and a spherical handle. Size (saucer): 4.75" Diameter (12.1 cm); size (vessel): 6" H (15.2 cm).

Provenance: ex-Adeon Gallery, Chicago, Illinois, USA, acquired prior to 1970

  • Condition: Both items have age-commensurate surface wear and small chips. Saucer has pinpoint holes on the underside and light fading to floral motifs; nice craquelure to glaze. Both vessels have light earthen and mineral deposits.
