Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Bali, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A pair of vintage wooden marionette puppet heads, the necks mounted with a nail to a slender rod, so they can articulate from side to side. Both likely represent traditional Balinese dancers known as Jengers and are painted in golden and black pigments. Mounted on removable wooden bases. Size: 3" W x 9" H (7.6 cm x 22.9 cm); 11" H (27.9 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010
