Sisson & Martens, p. 77. A fascinating pair of first edition books by the famous Jack London, both containing gripping, autobiographical tales. "John Barley-Corn" describes Jack London's struggles with alcoholism and enjoyment of drinking, focusing on vastly different periods of his life and covering the themes of masculinity, male friendship, literature, and the creative process. Alternatively, "The Mutiny of the Elsinore" is partially based on London's voyage around Cape Horn on the Dirigo in 1912.   • Condition: Both without dust jackets. "John Barley-Corn" is in fine condition with miniscule wear to cover. "The Mutiny of the Elsinore" is in very good condition with some scuffs to cover, light foxing to some pages, and slight bending and fraying to peripheries of cover and pages. "Mutiny" also has pencil inscriptions, old label, and old owner's stamp to pastedown and front free-endpaper.
