Description:

Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Dong Son, ca. 100 BCE to 100 CE. A pair of perfectly round bracelets, the bangles comprised of hollow-cast tubular lengths with matching low relief spiral designs chased around the exterior; the interior is smooth. Both are slightly open at the terminals. Both would be wearable for someone with a small wrist. They come with a custom display stand. Size of largest bracelet: 3.5" W ( cm); size of two together displayed on stand: 3" L x 4.55" W x 4.25" H (7.6 cm x 11.6 cm x 10.8 cm).

The Dong Son (or Dongson, or Ðông Son) culture thrived in northern Vietnam and its burials, rich in bronze goods, demonstrate a high level of wealth relative to neighboring areas. Bracelets like these would have adorned the elite dead in their journey to the afterlife.
